Daisy Esparza, Senior Legal Assistant
Daisy obtained a BA in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has 10 years of experience working in the law field.
Upon joining the Navarre law firm, Daisy found the fit to be just right. As the child of Mexican and Puerto Rican parents, she is fluent in Spanish and assists the group with many clients whose first language is not English. “I was born in the US – but spent a lot of time in Puerto Rico as a young person.”
In her younger years, Daisy dreamed of being a child advocate, and began to pursue a bachelors degree in criminal justice and later a masters degree in forensic psychology. She worked her way through school as an immigration legal assistant.
Along the way, Daisy married and had two children, but that never stopped her from obtaining her goal of earning her masters degree. Six years after graduating from college, Daisy decided it was time to go back to school. Their first child was born while enrolled in the accelerated masters program, which was a struggle in itself, yet very rewarding. When graduation rolled around, Daisy got the happy news they were expecting again. “It was very challenging because I had a lot going on in my life,” she says.
With both degrees in her hands, the law never left Daisy’s mind. “I had so much legal experience already I thought it would be best to stay with immigration. Everything happens for a reason I think,” Daisy says. “Immigration has many gratifying qualities to it.”
Three things you may not know about Daisy: • Her favorite food is Arroz con Gandules. • Her friends call her the counselor because she is such a good listener. • She absolutely loves salsa dancing.
